Solidarity comes first

As the events industry continues to feel the impact of the coronavirus crisis, many events venues and hotels have decided to reinvent themselves helping with their know-how to all those people affected by the virus.

Their initiatives are about helping, supporting, and giving encouragement in the best way that they know, which in many cases is through Food.

Today, we would like to point out the amazing work the team of ROC35 is doing in Barcelona. ROC35 is a former flour factory located in the emblematic Barcelona neighborhood of Poblenou. Known to be a multifunctional space created to spread the culinary culture and to harbor private and cooperate events, today this old flour factory has been again converted into a versatile space that is helping with its culinary activities to volunteers of this sanitary crisis.

ROC35’s facilities cover 400 m², distributed over three different areas that can be either divided or combined, in addition to a garden patio located between the two main rooms. All of ROC35’s spaces include audiovisual equipment and the layout of the spaces can be adapted according to the needs of each event.

Roc35 contributes with Health Warriors and Open Arms solidarity initiatives, not only distributing food, but letting all volunteers use its facilities to cook and prepare all the food, free of charge.

On one hand, Health Warriors is an initiative that was born with the idea of feeding hospital staff not only as a reward for their enormous effort but also as a necessity for this group. There are now more than 50 restaurants and venues in Barcelona united for the cause, and the list keeps growing.

On the other hand, Roc35 is also collaborating with Open Arms by cooking between 30 and 40 rations to feed their volunteers. The work of this NGO is being of vital importance at the moment, participating in the clinical trial of a medical treatment against the coronavirus.

As you see, this is about people helping people despite of their personal and economic situation. It is about solidarity, support and teamwork. This is the only way our industry and society can face this health crisis that is affecting worldwide.

Thank you to all the venues and people that as such as ROC35 are involved in such important and necessary initiatives at this time.
